Panoramic Landscapes

The following images are panoramic landscape photographs taken by Pete. 

Striding Edge Earth Shadow – This image shows Helvellyn at dawn with a vibrant Earth Shadow above (see definition). Taken in early December.

Mysterious Cheshire – Taken from Ramshaw in the Peak District, this image shows a stunning cloud inversion on a beautiful, if not freezing,November afternoon.

The Hostile Pennines –  Taken from Yad Moss, this image really documents the wild, barren nature of the North Pennines.

Leny Woods – Taken above the River Leny near Callender in Scotland.

Frozen Loch an Eilean – This little patch of paradise lies within the Cairngorm National Park; taken early one January morning, this photograph shows it at its most wild and picturesque.

The Mighty Sgurr nan Gillean – Standing tall above Sligachan on the Isle of Skye, Sgurr nan Gillean marks the northern end of the infamous Cuillin Ridge. This photo was taken on a clear May evening.

Laggan Forest Floor – Taken on an overcast February afternoon, this image shows the forest above the River Pattack near Laggan in the Scottish Highlands.

Rum Boats – Small fishing boats set against the small Hebridean island of Rum on a tranquil evening in early summer.

Glenridding Boathouse – Taken from the northern shore of Ullswater in the Lake District, this image shows a calm reflection of two small boathouses.

Scavaig and the Cuillins – This photograph shows a spectacular sunset over the Cuillin Ridge and Loch Scavaig, taken from Elgol on Skye.

Grasmere Reflections – Striking reflections on Grasmere in the English Lake District. Taken in September.

Golden Helvellyn – The Lake District giant Helvellyn is lit gold by the rising sun as is its neighbouring peak, Catstye Cam.

Snowy Skiddaw – Taken from the back of Skiddaw in Cumbria, this image shows the first snows of winter on the summit of England’s fourth highest mountain.

Blaven Reflections - The beautiful form of Blaven and Marsco on the Isle of Skye are seen here, reflected of the loch, almost mirror-like. Taken from the main road between Broadford and Elgol.

The Derwent Fells in Winter – Taken from St John’s in the Vale, this shot shows the snowy Derwent Fells above Keswick in the Lake District.

Meall a Bhuiridh – This photo was taken just before the sun disappeared and it shows Meall a Bhuiridh, above Rannoch Moor in Scotland.

Adam and Eve – The striking summit of one of Britain’s most characterful mountains taken at sunset in February. Snowdonia, North Wales.
